Breed: Chow mix (could have spitz, American Eskimo or Samoyed)

Age: 7 years

Gender: Spayed female

Size: 40 pounds (She could gain a few pounds)

Madonna’s story: Madonna is a special girl with a loving personality. She loves walks, spending time with her favorite people and spending time in the yard. She has become a favorite, stealing everyone’s hearts with her amazing smile. She would do best as the only pet in a home where she can receive daily exercise. Unfortunately, Madonna was diagnosed with diabetes. This is not life-threatening; in fact, she is thriving with her twice-daily insulin injections. It will cost about $50 a month for insulin and needles, and her new owner will receive a stipend to help with that. Like most dogs, Madonna isn’t afraid of the injections, but she does need a home where someone is willing to give them, as diabetes is life-threatening if the injections aren’t received. A permanent foster or home where someone is willing to do this are needed, or she has to stay at a vet’s office to ensure she is properly medicated.

Adoption procedure: Contact Robin with Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network, who is helping with placement. Her email is robinmorgan@cox.net. You can also fill out an adoption application online.
